An easy pour released a finger of creamy/soapy beige foam with long retention, no lacing. Clear dark amber/straw color, dark golden straw in sunlight.
Grainy toasted caramel malt greets the nose with floral hops right behind, wheat bread and a hint of yeast follow. Faint alcohol and dactyl, not off-putting.
Semi sweet as the smell indicated, average bitterness at first, hop flavor has added herbs and light spice. Caramel malt stands out, toasted and a little roasted grainy malt balance in. The finish is drawn out, neutral with bitterness rising to above average, resolves to a lingering spicy aftertaste.
Medium light bodied with lasting carbonation, smooth and well balanced with a slight oily richness to the feel. A bit on the sweet side but nails style guidelines, kinda reminds me of the original Sam Adams Boston Lager but sweeter. Warms well, keepum commin'.
