This was the final beer on a four beer flight a couple of weeks ago. The last beer of a long day of Sac Beer Week, totally underrated area frankly. Prefer to drink around those parts than SF for instance, despite general consensus being the other way around methinks.
Anyways, right away, can tell this is firmly a regular stout, not a big imperial one. Leans on the thinner side even for a single stout, but the color is that equal parts black and brown with a lighter viscosity than average. Really close to an irish dry stout. There wasn't much in the way of roasted malt, just a hint of it, kind of reminded me a little of that red harvest stout Guinness made awhile back, but not as watery. For me its doable, when I want a non sludgy massive stout, when I want to stay away from the dark fruit bitterness of an RIS. Just something to have a little bit of roasted malt on a mild evening. I dug it for what it was but again, its not like I'm gonna holla at my bud who is a stout fan and be like OMG you gotta try this. Decent stuff.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
