From the brewery in a snifter from the flip top grumbler, and again
a big thanks the Bluejacket74 and Laura for this fine establishment!
This interesting ale pours a medium dark brown cola color with a
moderate head of white foam that settles to a thin ring with scant
lacing. Nose of mild sweet bourbon, vanilla, toffee, and some cherry notes.
Flavors follow but surpass by presentation with a well crafted brown
sugar forward ale dashed in bourbon with hints of vanilla and oak.
Hints of cherry and a touch of toffee and subtle coffee mingle on the
rear making this one mighty fine brown! Nice mouth feel; lightly warming
making this one dangerous with well hidden alcohol, smooth as a velvet
dress, light carbonation, and a rich and lightly boozy/moderately dry
finish.
A dangerous brew with well hidden booze and flavor that is not cloying....
what more could one want from a nice brown ale?
Cheers
