02/25/05- Purchased at Trader Joes in San Francisco, CA
Presentation- 12oz bottle with no dates. Poured into a standard pint glass.
Appearance- Standard coloring for a PA. Maybe a tad light or watery looking amber. Small head and light lace.
Smell- Not much of a scent here. A guess a tad of malt. Not much else.
Taste- This dude is way to sweet. It's like they added tons of sugar or something. There is malt here, but too damn sweet. Not really any detectable hops.
Mouthfeel- Kinda spritzy and a tad watery. Mid range carbonation.
Drinkability- Only reason I picked it up was because it was a lone single and I figure, heck, I'll try anything once. About what I expected, so no big loss.

Awful and on tap. Watery yellow color. Unfinishable. What are they doing here? Astringency and sweet. No taste to speak of. Not worth it. Best point is Less horrible than other US national brands. Perhaps club soda with a drop of national brand beer taste in there.

Well things start off surprisingly well, with a darker-than-expected copper hue, and a truly large head that doesn't fade away too quickly. Some nice hop scents can be detected as the beer is in the bottle; these quickly disappear when poured into a glass.
There is very little taste overall: a slight maltiness that is a bit too raw and the hops are negligible. Still, there is some roastiness and a heartiness not available in your macro lager. However, there is some unpleasantness going on here. Mouthfeel alright, not as bad as watery yellow beer. Drinkability decent but not great. A truly dedicated carb-cutter could get by on this, and still be halfway to drinking decent beer. A far better choice than Mich Ultra, Aspen Edge, or Green Light. Still, what isn't?
Since the bottle provides the info, here are the specs: Calories 99, Carbs 5.4g, Protein 1.4g, Fat 0.0g.

My word , wonders never cease a low carb pale ale!..bought at Trader Joes.
Pours a dark clear copper..with a huge frothy off white head, moderate carbonation.
The aroma is very dull..some faint pils like hops and a sort of creamy smelling maltiness.
taste is just plain nothing..slight hop..maybe a hint of malt sweetness..but its all buried by rampant carbonation.
Not too good on the palte too watery and gassy.
Its drinkable and it is probably the best low-carb beer I have had..but thats not saying much.

Pours a clear copper colored brew.
Smell is a little malt, and more hops than malt.
Taste is bland and diluted ale flavor. There is a bit of bitterness to it. This is NOT superior to a Budweiser.
Mouthfeel is water.
Not a real drinkable brew. I would pick an American Macrobrew over this.

The beer after departing the bottle is a transparent deep amber color with the head monstrous in size, semi-creamy in texture and the color a very light tan, lace is a thick patchy sheet upon the glass. Nose is all malt, lightly sweet and fresh, crisp, start is sweet, nicely malted, the top skeletal in feel to the palate. Finish is stern in its acidity, the hops pleasant and mild, the aftertaste quite dry, not as bad as I feared, not something Ill ever drink again, but for those into Light, a decent beer.
