I shared the 2-litre growler I brought back from Haag last night with Alewife and artied2, and I must say it is a better Bier now! Aroma had distinct roasty, choco notes, and the taste had more pronounced roasty/choco malts. Finish was smooth and easy, with nary a hint of bitterness. Both Alewife and artied2 stated this was an eminently quaffable and tasty Bier!

Original review of 06OCT03: This Dunkles is medium-copper colored; a bit lighter than most. Has lots of carbonation, with a light tan head of about 2" (lasting well) and nice lace. Nose is very mild, consisting of some dark malt and caramel.... but way understated! Mouthfeel is medium across the board; though perhaps closer to a 3.5 than a 4.0, but nbd.... Flavor is also mild, with light caramel, some roasty malt, and a minimal amount of hopping. This is an easy-drinking bier, yet lacks oomph. (4.0/3.0/3.5/4.0/3.5=3.55)
