I tend to trust sours from Four Phantoms after trying their beer Johnny Flip Flops, which I absolutely loved, so naturally when I saw this I had to jump on it. Blood orange always adds a nice touch to a beer too, so I'm hopeful that this will be a nice sessionable sipper
Pours an opaque gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The aroma is about what you'd expect for a fruited sour, just a touch of dry hopping too maybe. I'm picking up on aromas of blood orange, red grapefruit, clean lactic sour, guava, citrusy hops, and a touch of salinity
The taste is about the same as the nose, nothing particularly exciting. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart lime, blood orange, lemon sorbet, and crisp malt. The swallow trends sweeter, bringing notes of mango, grapefruit, and mild citrusy hops
A light body pairs with gentle prickly carbonation for a refreshing beer. Finishes mostly dry but it coats the mouth
Mehh, this one was passable but just didn't meet or exceed my expectations like Johnny Flip Flops did. Oh well, I'll still try more of their stuff
