A- This pours with a super aggressive, thick head that is very white in color, fizzy, and while it starts out I'm going to say about three fingers in thickness, it dissolves quickly into a soapy looking topper that is about a half finger thick. The color of the brew itself is hazy, golden hued with yellow hints in the background and with carbonation that appears to be heavy. The lacing is stringy and think, with super white patchy foam sliding quickly back into the liquid. Overall this is a somewhat decent looking Weisse.....wish the head was a little more impressive...oh well
S- Super juicy and tropical on the initial wave of aromas, with fresh guava, pineapple, and assorted other ripe fruit flesh available to my nostrils immediately. Honestly, this smells like a freshly opened Del Monte container of tropical fruit juice....no alcohol presence to speak of, and just a hint of beer like bitterness on the finish. Lets see what we have on the taste....
T- Oh there is the Berliner Weiss that I was waiting for! As for the likeness to the aromas, this really does have it all....guava, passionfruit, pineapple tropical waves, but then the tartness of the funk and wheat malt hits the palate in heavy fashion. This is all countered by some lactose sweetness, which provides some creaminess, vanilla and biscuit dryness towards the finish. As I taste this more, relax, and enjoy, I'd say the balance becomes more pronounced and the tartness goes away, becoming more fruit juice like and sweeter on the palate.
M/O- Definitely heavy on the carbonation, providing a zingy pop that keeps this quenching throughout the taste. The body is light too and the alcohol is well hidden, as it should be, only being a 4% offering. I think that the more a person drinks this, the easier it becomes drinkability wise, providing a very nice hot weather type of brew, however, I am enjoying this in the cozy confines of my home during the end of a super cold spell. Decent overall and while I don't think I'd seek it out again, if I were to come across this one, I'd give another pint allotment!
