Coffee kick to a well bodied imperial stout, good vanilla and coffee aroma. A sipper, a good dessert beer with ingrediants to like. Can from Brewer's Pantry.

Collaboration with Barncat. Purchase at Durand and 355ml can served cold into a pint glass. No canning date. Imperial Stout conditioned with Madagascar, Uganda and Congo vanilla beans

Appearance - Black beer with plenty of bubbles. A very aggressive pour yields a finger and a half of frothy tan head. Good retention and spotty lacing at the edges of the glass.

Smell - Massive and layered vanilla aromas. Some brown sugar and maybe marshmallows mixed in. Incredibly enticing aroma.

Taste - Complex. Initially quite sweet with vanilla and sugars, before the before the big bad roasty stout comes in. Then lots of molasses and plenty of bitterness. Vanilla reemerges. Big and boozy to close with some bourbon. Boozy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Huge body and low carbonation. Slick and thick, velvety and oil like. Finish is boozy lending to a couple of hot and spicy sensations (via alcohol) in the finish.

Overall - Really solid imperial stout with loads of vanilla, a huge thick body and booze for days. Also balanced an delicate without any one of those huge features becoming overwhelming. Great initial offering from Counterpart for me and seriously glad I got the other two Ninth Life renditions as well.
