This traditional german beer is a clear, light amber color. It had a small broken head with not much retention. The beer had little in the nose, some hops detectable, but not as malty in smell as a typical märzen. The hops in the smell were somewhat citrusy. The taste is superb though, bright caramelly, and very balanced! The malt and hops are in complete union here. This tastes like a well executed craft brewed märzen. The combination of perle, tettnang, and hallertau hops give it the authentic german taste, but their balanced abundance makes it unmistakably pacific northwestern. This is the way the märzen style should always be! The mouthfeel is medium, and this is a very drinkable beer.

Dark brown in color with a smell of roasted malt and chocolate. Heavy taste of chocolate and malted barley. Very pleasant on the after taste, smooth on the finish. The beer is a thick brown beer when poured from the bottle.
