Inspired by the fact that our brewery is located in an ex-dairy barn, we brewed our favorite iteration of a milk stout. Drinkable, super complex malt backbone, just enough roast, and a layer of sweet lactose.

16oz can. Bottom date stamp is 'canned on 10/10/24'. Label has the advisory of "DRINK WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PACKAGE DATE". Right at seven months in the can.
Dark brown colored body, with a red mahogany back lit edge. Light tan head that fizzes away quickly. No lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malt, with a little smoke.
Taste has a metallic touch, with flavors from the dark roasted malts - toffee, chocolate, and coffee, with a bit of char. Also the sweet milk sugar is there, and provides a sweet counterpoint to the dark and dry malts. Both sweet and dark roast meld further in the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Dry finish but the lactose mediates. Okay carbonation.
Nothing flashy but would be a good food pairing when a dark roast brew is appropriate.

I am splitting a steroid bottle of this beer that I bought at the brewery with my bestie from Charlotte, NC whilst he was in town. It poured an opaque dark with tan head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had milk chocolate and roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet milk chocolate malt base with roast and toffee presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
