Bottle from the brewery, dated Aug. 27, 2020
Single-hop IPA brewed with Comet hops from Land Locked Hops, Loda, IL.
Hazy and opaque, dark copper orange with creamy foam that laces the glass with plenty of chunky suds.
Aroma is pungently hoppy, ripe cantaloupe, melon, papaya. Fruit forward and unique.
Taste is fruity and spicy with cantaloupe, papaya, grapefruit, and a little lingering piney resin. Some malt sweetness up front with a moderate bitterness that lingers into the dry finish. Lightly bready, though the hops take centerstage. Creamy and smooth feel, light carb and very easy to drink.
Looking forward to trying other IPA’s from this brewery, the local Comet hops here are really something.
