Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to a thick film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt with dark biscuit, chocolate, coffee and a hint of caramel. Flavor follows with mixed toasted and biscuit malt, milk and dark chocolate, drip coffee. Great coffee and chocolate finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess; classic oatmeal stout body. Well, this was a pleasant surprise. This is a nearby microbrewery that was completely off my radar, but glad I took a chance on this stout. The base oatmeal stout is spot-on, with a creamy body, and the chocolate character from the malt is top notch. The solid stout supports and melds with the coffee. This is very well made and flavorful; I'll be back to try their other brews, especially the base Snaks stout.
