1812 Pale Ale

Gold-copper and crystal clear with a light fluffy head that quickly dissipated. Smells lightly of citrusy hops and crackery malt. Mouthfeel is solid, medium light with good carbonation.

The taste initially was lightly malty balanced with a mild hop flavor. Simple, clean, no frills good porch beer. I liked it. But there’s an aggressive bitterness that lingers well into the finish and has overpowered the beer after about a third of the way through it.

I’m wondering if there’s something with the water profile reacting with the hops, because it’s not exactly a highly bitter beer, it’s more the harshness that lingers. I’ve liked basically all their other beers though, so I’m looking forward to the next one!
