On draught at the brewery. Served in a plastic cup (due to COVID-19 restrictions). It pours a pretty, raspberry-magenta color with a thin, milk-white head and lacing. The smell is subdued but features both red berries and blueberry. The taste opens with almost puckering tart raspberry and boysenberry with notes of blueberry but as the ale warms in the glass the sweetness of the fruit emerges and nicely balances the initial sourness. There is a touch of hop bitterness at the finish. It has a delightfully thick, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and a punchy 7.3% ABV. Overall, Pool Boy is a well-crafted kettle sour - ideal for a hot summer's day. Nicely done!
