Although listed @ the brewery as a Farmhouse Ale, believe this to be more in the French style than the Belgian Saison. Pours a translucent light cranberry color with pinkish-white head from a 32 oz. crowler into a Samuel Smith Imperial pint glass. Visible carbonation is present throughout the experience and the head is frothy, uneven & recedes ever so slowly. Aroma is mostly berry with some hints of earthy esters from the Belgian (?) yeast. Flavor is fruity up front but quickly the bitterness from the hops and the spice from the yeast kick in leaving a tart/bitter sweet finish that lingers. Body is light to medium and very refreshing.
