We’ve brewed a beer just as big and bold as the local community here in Franklin! This Double IPA packs huge bitterness, a big malt backbone and plenty of hop aroma to go around. Using a massive amount of warrior hops in the beginning of the boil for bittering, then layering Simcoe, Azzaca and Amarillo hops throughout the late additions and dry hop make for a bold full bodied, yet approachable DIPA.

My first beer at Jersey Cyclone. Pint on draught. It pours a cloudy, tangerine with brown hues, and it sports a bright white cap and creamy film of lacing. Its nose is subdued and malt-forward, along with lemon, grapefruit, and a whiff of floral hops. The taste opens with a touch of malt sweetness on the tip of the tongue followed by tart lemon and bitter grapefruit rind. The bill of Warrior, Simcoe, Azacca, and Amarillo hops add biting bitterness and additional fruit notes. It's nicely balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. This ale is fairly thick and creamy with moderate carbonation and the 7.4% ABV gives it nice substance. Overall, this is a very nice offering for a new operation. To me, it's an English/Southern style IPA. It has the makings of a fine DIPA and that over time it will be more juicy. I look forward to following its progress.
