Pours deep copper with a thin white head. Aroma is malty and caramel. Taste follows with caramel and grassy/hay malty notes. Feel is good, decent body. Overall a decent Oktoberfest.

DATE: October 1, 2021... OCCASION: celebrating Mom's successful surgery, beautiful weather, and a promising weekend... GLASSWARE: Otto's pub club mug... canned barely three weeks ago, this explodes and crackles out of the can with life, manifesting in a dark amber body that hoists a thick, spongy, light beige head... staunch and attractive... thick caramel, toasted malts, woody accents, banana traces, vibrant toffee all blanket what Tettnanger can fight through--which offers a bit of fresh herb and spiciness... an engaging aroma... as promised, accessible sipping, palpable but medium-bodied in the right way... the visible effervescence translates to a bubbly, lively mouthfeel, surprising at the teeth and pleasant at the back end... all leads up to a celebration of malts, with caramel, toffee, toasted oats, and the imperfect herbs associated with Tettnanger, making for a vibrant, impactful experience with each sip... one of the better fests I have tried this fall, providing a malt-heavy profile that warms and wins, is drinkable yet causes a pause for appreciation... my first JC is a winner-well done, gents!

16 oz can.
Medium to deep amber on the pour. Clarity is very good. Medium-sized white head that sticks around for a bit. Bready and caramel malts combine with lightly floral hops in both the aroma and flavor. The caramel is a little bit on the heavy side but avoids being cloying. Medium bodied.
An amber Okotberfest that is a little on the sweeter side but remains easy enough to drink. Not a bad attempt from this local brewery.
