Copenhagen 18/1 2023. 33 cl waxed and capped bottle from Mikkeller web-shop. Orange label with a lonely slice of birthday cake.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small bubbly beige head. Settles as thin flimsy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong sweet and slightly candy-like odor mingling with dark alcohol. Earthy notes. Dark roasted malts. Brown sugar and dark bitter chocolate. Dark Rum. Light touch of leather.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, soft, creamy, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a searing boozy streak. Lingering. Finish is sweet alcohol.
It might not be a cake but it certainly is a satisfying boozer.
