Aged in Moscatel Barrels for 15 moths, finished with vanilla.
Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed caramel with on finger of fast falling tan head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Sherry & red grapes, raisins & brown sugar, never smelled any vanilla, my only complaint, leather late
T: Follows the nose, plus barrel dryness, figs & leafy hops up front. Barrel dryness, figs, sweet red grapes & leafy hops along with a little booze on the tongue. Finishes with red grapes, barrel dryness, figs, dark cherry & a little white grape showing up as well
MF: Medium body, near zero carbonation, warming
A good take on the style, especially if you dig red grapes, me not that much. Having said that this was flavorful enough, but thinking I should saved it for the dead of winter. Will buy again I find it ( brewery purchase )
