Bought and consumed in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. The beer is a pure golden color with not much carbonation visible within. Head was about one finger with poor retention. The beer smells nice and hoppy which is different for a blonde ale, in my opinion. Some bright lemon rind notes throughout. A balancing crackery malt smell. Taste is refreshing with more lemon notes coming through. A bit of citrus hops throughout. This is much brighter and happier than many other blonde ales. It would almost be an APA, but the abc and the malt profile kind of stop it from being so. Smooth, but a bit dull and slightly watery in the finish. Very drinkable, and a great alternative to the mass produced local fare as a beach drink. Support Costa Rican craft beer!
