Pours a nice, mostly clear, somewhat pale amber colour with a three finger off-white head. It does look like it could be a Märzen. A bit of malt on the nose, promising, and perhaps a hint of citrus, but all quite muted. Not much going on in the aroma. Flavour wise, initially a balance of generic malty and hoppyness, giving way to a distinctly New World citrus hops note thst is quite strong and quite out of character for a Festbier (or a "Munich Lager" as the can describes it) but very much in character for a North American craft beer. There is also a delayed and long malty finish after the hops starts to fade, a deep, sweetish, note that reminds me of a Bock. It's a actually quite good, and a nice palate cleanser from the overly citrusy hops. On the swallow, it's smooth enough, average I suppose, medium weight, and easy to drink. Overall a decent pint, not quite true to the style due to the hops, but redeemed by a pretty nice deep malty backbone and general drinkability.
