Roam 2024 is the premier of our Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout series. This massive stout was brewed with a combination of nine different malts to create a complex depth. We then took it and aged it for just over twelve months in Oppidan Spirits Bourbon Barrels. During this slumber it took on notes of oak vanillin, and sweet bourbon accents. The chocolate, caramel and roast flavors melded with the barrel characters to create a decadent experience. We're excited to see where we Roam next with this series.

Purchased at Harbor Brewing Company 9 July 2025 and shared for breakfast the next morning in a Spiegelau stout glass. “Packaged 9/18/24”
Noses raspberries straight from the pour, bouquet adds cacao nibs, vanilla, toasted light rye.
Pours opaque almost black, deep brown cap of foam which quickly fades into a ringed spiral leaving no lacing and eventually smooth brown liquor at the edges.
Taste dutched cocoa balancing tart dark fruit esters, dominated by cherry. Biscuit malt. Sweetness from caramel toffee malt balanced with roast, acid, and oak. Vanilla begins the beguine with chocolate cherries for the finish. Water addition breaks out more toasted oak and the juice of half dried plum, unlocking a hint of boozy heat.
Mouthfeel brings creamy malt upholding restrained carbonation, subtle tannins’ drying finish makes the next sip all the better.
Overall plans include hurrying back to buy more cans with plans to cellar and taste again in another year, two, and more, giving tannins time to relax and contribute. A study in malts and yeast esters. First enjoyed last year on draft knowing I needed more time to appreciate. Happy to appreciate this talent right down the road and looking forward to supporting and enjoying this barrel aged series for hopefully some time to come.

Thick, oily looking pour, small, quickly receding dark brown head. Boogar machine says dark chocolate and a hint of bourbon. Taste buds enjoy the chocolate and caramel, lots'a roast and some vanilla finish this. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel, could use a bit more carbonation.
