A friend acquired a four-pack from the Farm on 5-31-23 that we split. Canned 3-20-23; consumed 11-12-23. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured brown with a beautiful long lasting off-white head.
Nose is giving me pumpernickel bread.
Taste is a malt base that is a toasted and slightly roastiness that is giving me pumpernickel bread straight up. Finishes with adequate hopping that gives an appropriate amount of sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Overall this is a nice brew that hits the style pretty well,

On tap, pours a clear deep amber. Smell and taste feature the bready, sweetish malts, with the hops playing a more background role. Nice, enjoyable beer.

A standard dopplebock but with no sweetness and a kind of acrid finish that would be totally acceptable if this were some sort of IPA but definitely off style when it comes to dopplebocks.
