A new to me stop in Waupaca. This was my 2nd stop on the way to Central Waters. H.H. Hinder is in a nice and I'm guessing new purposefully built building. I really like the exposed beams on the curved ceiling. Lots of parking.
As you enter, this is small lounge area with comfy furniture and board games. This opens up to the main bar room where there are multiple tables and a bar. The beer garden and brewing area are to the rear. They had a nice crowd at 2 p.m. on a Saturday, so they are doing something right.
Service was friendly but a bit slow. You order beers and food at the middle of the bar. The issue is that lots of people want to chat or want suggestions, or want to do a samples or ask about if beer X is like some large commercial beer, etc. (all fine by me) but they clog up the service area filling out the flight cards, etc. and it really slows things down. They either need to add another bartender or have a separate are to order flights from.
The beer we sampled was fine. German Pilsner was a bit underpowered but the WC IPA and the porter were up to snuff. They have 12 or so house beers. Some are regulars and some are rotators.
Food offerings are limited but there are enough options to keep the munchies away.
I would have no issues returning the next time I am in the area.
