Aronia is our Berliner Weisse. A fresh sour with aronia and raspberries, which combine for a beautiful ruby-red color, an aromatic smell, and a light sour flavor. Legend tells of Napoleon’s troops cherishing Berliner Weisse so much that they called it ‘Champagne of the North’. An easy-drinking, bubbly beer.

Refreshing to enjoy ice cold in a champagne glass.

Won the award as the best 'Girlfriend beer' at the Nordic Brew Festival 2021.

Copenhagen 27/8 2022. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. Hjort's usual design with their black and white logo with antlers and a red background with berries.

Pours unclear amber with a huge white head with a pinky touch. Bubbly. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.

Aroma is intense with a sweet odor of sugary berries mingling with lactic notes. Sweet raspberry and currants. White sugar and lactose. Light whiff of citrus and gooseberries.

Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced with a medium strong tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a tart undertone. Lingers shortly. Finish is watery.

Fine intense nose but quite thin in flavor.
