Copenhagen 18/5 2020. 50 cl bottle from Supervin.dk. Blue version of Hjort's usual label design with falling hop flowers. Boasting a silver medal from Barcelona Beer Challenge.
Pour opaque, dark brown with a small light beige head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet candy-like odor with a lighter bitter smell rummaging in the background. Milk chocolate, vanilla. Bitter dark chocolate and licorice.
Light carbonation. Thick, soft, smooth, viscous, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong, candy-like sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while.
Pretty light weight for a Baltic Porter and with a solid dose of sweet milk chocolate and vanilla. Not bad but a tad too sweet for my taste buds.
