16 ounce can from brewery - packaged date 04/2024.
Pours a very dark brown with three fingers of dark tan to brown creamy/tight bubbly head.
Aroma of roasty chocolate malt, toasty, biscuit, a bit of nuttiness. Notes of caramel and coffee, and just a whiff of smoke.
Smooth roasty malt on the palate with chocolate, bread, biscuity, nutty flavours and caramel. Soft earthy bitterness and again there is a hint of smokiness.
Super smooth and creamy medium mouthfeel with average carbonation and a clean finish.
Perhaps the day, my mood at the time but this was just great.

Poured from a howler purchased at Collective here in Cowtown.
Appearance - Pours a deep copper red with two fingers of bubbly off white head.
Smell - spicy floral, earthy, and leafy hops, cocoa, chocolate, nutty aromas, caramel, toffee, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - spicy floral, earthy, and leafy hops upfront. The cocoa, chocolate, nutty characteristics follow suit. The caramel, toffee, bready malts, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky from the malts while the cocoa, chocolate, and nutty notes linger.
Overall - An interesting malt forward brew that displays the flavours quite well. A pleasant tipple on this somewhat mild afternoon here in Cowtown.
