Krombacher, situated in the beautiful hills of Westfalia, draws upon the local mountain spring water, soft and low in minerals, ideal for brewing a Pilsner style beer. Taste: a wonderful balance of hops and malt with a distinct crispness on the finish.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold and clear, head is off white and presents less than one finger thick, head dissipates to nothing, no lacing.

Smell is grain forward, pilsner notes, grape nuts, neutral hops.

Taste is more pilsner forward grain notes with grape nuts, earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness but a crisp finish.

Overall a classic pilsner with grain forward flavor and moderate bitter and crisp finish.

330ml bottle. Label lists the best by date is '12.03.26'.
Clear, straw to pale gold colored body. Thin white head with the pour, and this maintains. Leaves behind disconnected lacing webs.
Aroma of toasted grain malt with a mineral note. Floral hops.
Taste follows the nose with flavors of toasted grain malts (toasted bread) and hops (spice and floral). Slight bitter note.
Medium mouthfeel. Clean and crisp finish. Good carbonation.
Wet and sweet for session work.

It isn't anything special, just a smooth drinking experience from start to finish. Good to have warm, good to have cold, but not particularly notable in any aspect. Smells good, tastes good, looks fine, goes down easy, and doesn't make you feel full.

Sassnitz 15/7 2025. 50 cl from tap at To Gao, a Vietnamese restaurant on a very short Main Street.

Pours clear golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as a 3 cm thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a bit of sourish grains and citrus. Sweet pale malts, bread and cereal. Lemon and grass.

Light carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is moderately intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Refreshing but nothing out of the ordinary.

Cold tap pour at V&B Toulouse, FR.
Arrived capped well on clear gold brew.
Nose brings light hops, cereal, with floral and herb notes.
Light in the mouth, good hop to malt blend, apple, slightly bitter, slightly sweet, with a clean dry finish. Medium carbonation.
Overall, this brew leans lager in flavor, yet is a nice light and summery quencher.

One of the more milder pils I have had to date...

Unlike other pils that are hop-forward (at least that's how I taste them) this one was very mild. Some maltiness but just the mild vibe across the board. Kinda found this good, out-of-the-ordinary good...

Njemačko pivo koje me na početku iznenadilo sa mirisom i izgledom, ali okus nije bio u istom rangu,očekivao sam više ali također za ovakvu cijenu nitko se neće bunit na kvalitetu.
