Copenhagen 12/5 2018. 33 cl bottle from Edeka, Damp. Simple brown label with signature from Reinhold Fischer, Braumeister in Krombach and a little red sign ensuring me that this is "Brautradition Aus Krombach seit 1803". A bit on the pretentious side.
Pours hazy, dark brown with a big dense white head. Settles as a frothy, thin layer of foam clinging to the side of the glass. Massive lacing.
Aroma is weak. light sweet caramel and brown sugar. Hints of roasted malts. Not much else.
Soft carbonation. Soft, creamy yet thin texture.
Flavor has a quite strong sweetness followed by a light bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter and fairly short.
A bit on the sweet side - and rather watery. But light and easily drinkable.

Ruby chestnut colour with a slight haze. Ecru foam, high, persistent, finely bubbled. It decorates the glass nicely.
Aroma is malty sweet, caramel, rice, with light earthy and cellar notes.
Taste: here the delicate sweetness is broken by an earthy bitterness.
Saturation high, quickly creates a feeling of fullness. Medium body. Round texture. Aftertaste medium-long dry, earthy.

Pours a cloudy, mahogany coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of doughy, slightly caramelly malt and hints of earthy, herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, with a decent balance of doughy, slightly caramelly malt and herbal, earthy, slightly spicy hops, with hints of dark fruit coming through as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and some doughy, caramel malt and herbal, earthy hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Just like with their Kellerbier from the same series, this is all right, drinkable and certainly better than their Pilsner, but then again there are far better examples of the style easily available. Decent balance of doughy, caramel malt and herbal, earthy hops, with hints of dark fruit and perhaps cocoa powder, but ultimately feeling a bit bland. At least that certain mineral note that I know and dislike from Krombacher is a lot more subdued here, probably due the the heavier malt focus, but still there, lingering somewhere in the background.

Pours an unfiltered nutbrown color with a huge, fluffy beige head.
Smells of toffee, smoked grains and lighter, matured hops.
The mouthfeel of this is quite refreshing, featuring a light bodied, well balanced and smooth drinking beer.
Tastes of whole grain bread, rustic malts with a light, lingering sweetness to them, wrapped up by slightly dry, noble hops. Turns a tad sweeter then with balancing bakers chocolate and cocoa among a gentle, calming bitterness. Finishes with more toffee, light smoke and a note of milk chocolate.
Very well made Dunkel with a great rusticness to it, together with a nice malt complexity.

Poured from bottle. Small head which dissipated pretty quickly, but still laced ok. Tasted like a typical German Dunkle. Smelled like a typical dunkle as well. Good beer, but not spectacular

From the bottle, it pours a hazy light brown with a nice tan head. The head lasts a good while, eventually reducing to a robust ring and a land of a few lakes. Primarily caramel malt in the nose. The mouth gets the same, with a light bite of yeast. Easily drinkable!
