Springtime is Sour time. We are kicking off our 2022 Sour season with this heavily fruited and super easily drinkable refreshment. Slightly sour to please those new to the style. Black currant, raspberries and blueberries turn this into a refreshing fruit smoothie. To give it some twist, we added some Madagascar Vanilla.

Pours an opaque, deep, dark purple coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells of light doughy malt and fresh berry notes of blackcurrant and lighter raspberry, with just a hint of blueberry. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of light doughy malt and fresh, vibrant, tart berry notes of black currant and lighter raspberry and blueberry, with a good, underlying acidity. Finishes with a light/medium acidity and some blackcurrant, raspberry and blueberry lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a nice Kettle Sour that has got quite a natural, vibrant, fruity flavor profile to it that is a bit dominated by the blackcurrant though, with lighter raspberry and blueberry, while the vanilla is quite subtle, hardly noticeable actually, which is not necessarily a bad thing for my personal taste though, with this being kinda reminiscent of the last Kettle Sour with vanilla I had by them as well.
