Draft at HomeBrewStuff. Clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Malty aroma, caramel, bready. Taste is toasted brown bread, toffee. Very, very dry.

a decent new one from these guys, good to see some different flavors coming through. this is a copper lager, a bit sweet and kind of nutty and autumnal for high summer, a strange style decision and timing, but the beer is pretty well made so i cant complain. decent shine to this, a short but lasting white head, a shiny new penny copper color, nice looking brew. it smells caramelized but not heavy, like the grain richness is there but the beer does not seem to have the heft or the mass, which is kind of cool, toasted bread, honey, and some slightly european lager yeast, seems more or less clean, only lightly hopped, and pretty basic really. the flavor is simple too, some middle sweetness from the grain, toffee and maybe light butterscotch, some bready character to the lager yeast is subtle but gives this a bit of needed depth, a little residual sweetness on the finish and a graham cracker note there, a flash of bittering hops, thats all. smooth in feel and lighter than it looks, carbonation is good, and overall this is a fine pint for october or so, but a little more malty than i generally get stoked on in july. more than anything its just good to see new beers from warfield hitting boise.
