a summery and easy drinking hazy ipa done with mango, surprisingly authentic, i have not loved a lot of fruited hazy stuff, but this hits, vacation in a glass. i think it helps the base beer isnt overdone in any respect, no green bite or burn from the hops, and just as importantly, no heavy grain weight, its not all oaty and gloopy, its more unfiltered looking and feeling than anything, makes good sense to keep this on the lighter side. a pretty orange share to this and average white head from the tap. the nose is juicy from the fruit more than the hops to me, but both are there, the mango seems real enough and not too strong, also getting mandarin oranges from the can, tangerine zest, light pineapple, and a ripe cantaloupe thing, fruit cocktail, but not too sweet, almost no hop bitterness to speak of, which is fine for the style, but a little of that set against the fruit would balance this i reckon. the flavor follows the nose, mango is bright and natural, even a touch tangy for a flash up front, ripe, and really compatible with the selected hops, an herbal note under the fruit, no real bitterness at all, a big of grain character pushing through, this is balanced, and the ferment is pretty clean. this is flavorful but also appropriately restrained, and there is no real linger on the swallow. i like that they didnt try to do too much with this, i know it can be tempting. quite good overall.
