Collaboration with Mikkeller.
Coast to Coast is an West Coast - East Coast IPA. It is made with a west coast IPA hop profile but an east coast IPA malt bill, hence the name. It is clocking in at 7.1% and made exclusively with New Zealand hips (Nectaron, Riwaka and Rakau) giving it a lot of body and fruitiness.
We wanted to do something that was out of the ordinary when Mikkel came to the brewery and so we did.

Copenhagen 20/2 2021. 33 cl bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. Åbens usual split label in off-white with Mikkellers disgruntled couple pressing their hands on their big Å.
Pours opaque pale yellow with a small white head. Almost luminescent. Settles as very thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet yet fresh odor of exotic fruit mingling with more prominent citric notes. Sweet peach and red currants. Sharp citrus and grapefruit.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger, tart bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Nice and fresh - even though it looks like it would glow in the dark.
