Copenhagen 23/12 2024. 44 cl can from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. Åben's usual can design in brown with a split label on a metal can.
Pours dark mahogany with a red hue. Big fluffy white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of creamy foam covering the surface of thew beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of toasted malts mingling with a bitter sharp scent of dark chocolate. Toasted bread, toffee and milk chocolate. Dark bitter chocolate with a hint of espresso coffee.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Brown Ale - a bit on the bitter side.
