The Mouse King is one of our 2023 winter beers named after the classic Christmas ballet "The Nutcracker." This Barley Wine is the perfect winter warmer, pairs well with a roaring fire and good company.

Copenhagen 2/7 2025. 44 cl can from Mad & Vin, Magasin, Kbh. K. Åben's usual can design with the split label on a steel can with an abstract painting in green shed and a peculiar egg-shape,
Pours slightly unclear mahogany with a small off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patch of foam unable of covering much of anything. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, sweetly sugary odor mingling with alcohol. Brown sugar, plums and figs. Raisins. Swwt liqueur. Potent.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, a bit greasy, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong, sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness.. Aftertaste is sweet and quite boozy. Lingering. Finish is sweet yet dry.
Pretty potent for a Mouse King.
