Nightcap is brewed for the TV show Natholdet and their 2021 Christmas calendar. Åben went all-in on this one and made a Pastry Stout brewed with dried cocoa nibs, Mexican vanilla beans and roasted macadamia nuts. Coconut flakes were also added to give the beer a little freshness.
The beer itself is a dark stout, with a sweet malty nose, creamy full-bodied mouthfeel with a light touch of roasted malts and a hint of licorice and overripe banana.

Frederiksberg 23/2 2022. 40 cl from tap at Tap 21, H. C. Ørstedsvej, Frb. C.
Pours opaque murky dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as a thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet slightly candy-like odor mingling with a light scent of sour cream. Caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Coffee with cream. Sourish notes.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft and a bit sticky, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is quite sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is a bit sugary.
A quite sweet beer. But if you like a solid slice of beer cake before going to sleep this might be for you
