An American Barley Wine, deep copper in colour with a delicate bitterness and hoppy aroma. Brewed for shared moments, winter air, and fireside warmth.

Copenhagen 17/2 2026. 44 cl can from A Good Case web-shop. Steel can with Åben's usual split label this time in burgundy.
Pours opaque unclear amber with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a paper thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Massive lacing.
Aroma is intense with a boozy and sweet odor mingling with a light sourish scent. Brown sugar, paint thinner, glue and dark alcohol. Sharp scent of sour grains.
Light carbonation. Rather thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a rather strong and little brutal bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while, Finish is quite dry.
Potent Barley Wine with a surprisingly strong bitter streak.
