Pours gem clear, pale gold, with one inch of off-white head. The head quickly folds to hold one quarter inch for the duration. Patchy lace is deposited on the Pretentious Glass Company IIPA glass and there is no visibly active carbonation.
The aroma opens with grassy hops and lemon pith, with a background of fresh-squeezed lemon.
The flavor is crisp and mildly bitter. The flavors are clean, with lemon pith coming forward. It has a modest finish that is lingering and dry. With warmth, some faint cracker malt becomes apparent.
A medium body and watery texture, with alcohol as expected. The carbonation is fine and modest. It has a light astringency.
This is a good drinking beer, which I enjoyed on a bitterly cold, ice-encrusted afternoon.
