Cola black-ish brown with a tall, dense tan head poured from a sidepull into a somewhat dirty glass, which is revealed by a swoop of tiny bubbles clinging to the inside like grains of sand. The head is decently fluffy, but dissipates quickly.
More on the bitter end, woody even, and almost smoked, a little accenting licorice or molasses comes out midpalate.
Kind of aggressive and bold for what I typically expect from the style, though some cocoa comes out with time.
