Poured from a 32 ounce can filled in my presence at the brewery yesterday into a tulip glass at 46.4 degrees F.
Appearance- Pale gold, mildly hazy, white creamy head, slightly above average head retention and lacing.
Aroma- Clementine, grapefruit, pine resin, floral, medium strength of scent.
Flavor- Grapefruit, pine resin, clementine, high strength of flavor.
Mouthfeel- Medium body, average carbonation, highly bitter, highly creamy, mildly dry finish, mildly mouth coating, mildly prickly, sticky lingering pine finish.
Overall- Pale gold and mildly hazy with slightly above average head retention and lacing. The bouquet was a very pleasant mix of clementine, grapefruit, pine resin and floral notes with medium strength. The flavor was a classic WCIPA blend of grapefruit, pine resin and clementine with perfect balance and high intensity. The mouthfeel consisted of medium body, high bitterness, high creaminess, a sticky lingering pine character at the finish and a mildly dry finish that kept me coming back for my next sip. Overall, this beer was exceptional and a fantastic representation of the WCIPA style.
