A 16 ounce draft pour into a can glass at the brewery.
Appearance- Deep gold, clear, slightly off white creamy head, slightly above average head retention, average lacing.
Aroma- Clementine, strawberry, between medium and high strength of scent.
Flavor- Clementine, pith, bready, pine, high strength of flavor.
Mouthfeel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, moderately creamy, highly bitter, moderately mouth warming.
Overall- Deep gold and clear with slightly above average head retention and average lacing. The bouquet was simple, but medium-high in strength and a pleasant mix of clementine and strawberries. The flavor had more complexity with clementine, pith and pine balance by a bready malt backbone. The strawberry component in the aromatics was not detectable in the flavor. The mouthfeel consisted of a medium-full body, average carbonation, moderate mouth warming properties and a high bitterness. Overall, this was a simple, but solid DIPA that had plenty of flavor and aromatic intensity.
