New brewery in Beloit, not too far off the highway on the outskirts of town, where fields of soybeans can still be seen swaying in the wind. Whoever designed the place must have planned a few modern megachurches, because it had that feel. Standing tall on top of a hill, down a winding road leading to a sprawling parking lot. A patio and music playing from speakers by the front door. Lots of mismatched barnwood and metal beams, which continued inside.
Host stand up front, double sided island bar to the left, table seating around the bar with booths on the right side and going farther back to some larger tables. Open, airy modern industrial feel with some smart design touches.
Lots of staff, service at lunch was great and they checked on us several times. Food and beers both came out quickly.
Beer was a little hit or miss. Lots of styles, not all successful. Hazy IPA Impeccable Style was the best, a currant fruit beer was great, a session IPA with electrolytes was odd, and an imperial stout with maple syrup was very cloying, and borderline undrinkable.
The food was their strong suit, the cheddar bacon burger was juicy and grilled well, and the heirloom salad was fresh and unique. Overall it was a good experience and i’d return once they hone in on their more successful beers.
