This beautiful golden gem hits you with a spicy aroma, sweet effervesce and slightly fruity taste, but be careful this one packs a little punch!

13 oz. pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, golden-straw color with a very thin head and virtually no lacing. The smell features subdued banana, Belgian yeast, lite coriander and clove and, as the glass warms, just a whiff of orange/tangerine. The taste opens with a lot of biscuity malt, lemon, and a hint of banana. The Belgian spicing is muted. I'm surprised by the bitterness at the finish. While I can discern the expected flavors, they are for lack of better description, washed out. The mouth feel is crisp and effervescent and the 7.1% ABV gives it good substance without overpowering. Overall, I commend Lion's Roar for brewing a Tripel - not an easy style - so early in its operation. But it needs to work on this recipe. The fruit and Belgian spicing should be more bold. They have a good recipe and just need to improve it.
