Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – the beer is served a deep brown color with a one finger head of off white foam. The head fades superfast to leave tiny patches of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a roasted coffee aroma that has a rather strong showing of some toast and a little bit of cocoa. Along with these smells comes a little bit of caramel and a touch of brown sugar.
Taste- The taste begins with a roasted malt flavor that has a little bit of a brown bread taste and a moderately strong coffee flavor. There is a little bit of sweetness upfront, being of a light caramel and toffee flavor. As the taste advances the roastiness gets stronger all while the sweetness seems to get lighter. At the end a little bit of earth and char come to the tongue to leave one with a nice roasty and slightly drier taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the medium side with a carbonation level that is rather low. Overall the feel is awesome for the roastiness of the brew and makes for one nice and easy drinking brown.
Overall – I was quite impressed by this brew. Quite tasty and easy drinking overall with a good roastiness and clean taste.
