Dream by Day Barleywine is the epitome of decadence. As an English barleywine, we brewed this beer with a combination of Maris Otter and English crystal malts, boiled for hours, fermented and then aged for over a year in A. Smith Bowman Bourbon barrels.
The results speak for themselves. The liquid is a rich amber brown, with a chill haze that disappears as it warms up, with off-white lacing. The aroma is an enticing combination of oak, bourbon, treacle, toffee, and rich dark fruit. The flavor is equally layered as the oaky and vanilla-esque bourbon combines beautifully with nutty, caramel, sweet, toasty malt. Low carbonation helps keep the texture of the beer luscious and velvety, with a smooth, subtle warmth without any alcohol burn.

On tap. Light brown hazy body. Rich and sweet on the nose; caramel, toffee, vanilla, and bourbon. Taste follows, with rich toffee and vanilla, a hint of orange, and a heavy presence of bourbon. Sweet at first, but tempered by the barrel notes. Feel is smooth, oily, and warm.
Very nicely balanced; rich without becoming cloying.
