On tap @ The Bent Elbow... poured a clear dark cola color with a 1 finger mocha cap...my sample was 8% ABV and rebranded "Maximus".....aroma had pungent roasty malts in the nose with some prune notes and some woodsy-earthy tones...slick mouth feel but a dry finished character...flavor was malty-roasty, dried dark fruit tones with just enough hop astringence to make it interesting....good attenuation made a dry roasty finish...really satisfying and warming with no hint of alcohol...a dopplebock I wish they'd make a standard offering...really drinkable dopplebock....beware!
