That bad man Frank is letting it all hang out again and it looks like he may need a ride. In his honor, we proudly let loose yet another delicious Hazy Double IPA that is sure to be a crowd and Frank-pleaser: Frank, Get In The Car.
This puppy is stripped down and hopped up with Strata, Zappa, and Iowa grown Cascade. Initially, it’s oozing that peachy lemony stank that only Strata can unleash. The other two hops pitch in some delightful spicy pineapple, resin and grapefruit, making it far easier to chug than it should be. Marissa is going to be super pissed, but what else is new? This is what your boy Blue would’ve wanted. Your soul needs to breathe! Plus, tanks are made to go off the rails, right?!

Aroma is sweet citrus hops/mostly Cascade. The flavor is fruit, malts, a hint of honey/syrup sweetness and a citrus/Cascade hop/creeping alcoholic finish.

On tap at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA. Served in a snifter. Hazy dark orange body, with a nice finger or so of white head. Big aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine greet you from afar. These obtain on the palate, alongside a solid backbone of light caramel malt. Well balanced, with moderate bitterness and a dry finish rounding out the profile. This was a fine sipper on its own, and also made for a splendid pairing with fish and chips. Overall, not much to complain about here.

Orange-y color with fair head. More head retention please. Great level of haze: modest, not murky. Smell is dank and citrus, but has some booze was that worries me. Flavor is fantastic - moderate bitterness and nice fruit notes which I’ve really been digging the interplay of lately. Not a one trick juice bomb. No alcohol flavor at all and no breathy mouthfeel. Superb for an 8.3% beer. Overall very good.
