Popularized by the Belgian Trappist monasteries. Deep golden in color, brilliant clarity with a creamy, rocky head. Lovely bouquet with significant spiciness, fruity esters and soft alcohol. Smooth grainy-sweet malt and spicy, slightly fruity notes with a soft alcohol finish. Moderately bitter with a super dry finish, this Tripel is surprisingly drinkable.

A: Pours a nice golden color. This is to be expected for the style. The head is white and fluffy.

S: The smell combines aromas of malt sweetness. The aromas are complex and desirable.

T: The taste of this beer was very nice. Notes of vanilla and caramel can be found in this beer.

MF: Surprisingly light bodied, especially for the abv.

O: Excellent take on the style. This was very enjoyable.

Poured on draft at the brewery.

Pours a gorgeous bright gold color with a finger of creamy white head. The head has great retention, ultimately settling into a thin halo around the glass.

The aroma slaps you in the face with pears up front. There's some tart green apple as well, followed by a ton of caramel and bready malt. There's some subtle banana esters here before a spicy, peppery finish.

The taste starts off fruity like a date with Richard Simmons. Lots of pears and green apple notes. Then comes a wave of wheat dough, caramel, and banana esters. Nicely hopped with a spicy finish.

The feel is full bodied with soft carbonation. Exceptionally creamy and smooth with a dry finish. A tad sticky but only just. Alcohol is just barely noticeable on the finish of each sip.

Overall, a fantastic Tripel that hits all the notes and complexities you expect from the style whilst remaining shockingly drinkable. Need more now.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery.

A - Poured a nice crystal clear golden amber hue with a thick, dense white head that fades to leave light halo and creamy blanket.

S - Big aromas of floral and malt sweetness. Good light alcohol, lovely phenols. Great Belgian yeast going on, little fruity with some pear juice and apple skins dust with cracked black pepper. Little bit of wheat and a flash of almost caramel that lingers on the nose. The nose pops so much it'll stop you in your track.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of slightly sweet malts and a bit of caramel, good light malt nice fruity esters, flashes of grassy hops. Good almost creamy wheat and more of that ester driven pear and apple skin element that works so, so wonderfully with this beer. Slight bitterness on the finish, no discernible alcohol whatsoever.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, medium bodied, creamy, little fluffy, alcohol non-existent

O - Overall this was an exceptional tripel, spot on for style. Definitely the best tripel I've had stateside for sure. You can most definitely tell the care for the craft that went in to this one. Wish they had this in cans when I was there.
