When you're really good at something then why do anything else? When it comes to the schwarzbier style of dark German lager, Schwarz Monch has no incentive to look elsewhere.
Very dark and pouring with the blend on onyx black, crimson and bark brown, Schwarz Monch beer builds a creamy, light sandy-tan froth before the release of a somber, sultry scent of coffee, caramel, cream and char. As its mild mannered sweetness greets the tongue, the caramelization, toffee and toasted malts remain light yet robust. Any hop bitterness seems coffee-like as the ale trends into a dry and roasty finish of kona, cocoa and dry roast.
Bold in its dark flavor but light in body makes this dark beer daringly refreshing and quite characterful. Who knew that dark beer could be so effortless.

Pours a dark black in color with a tan head. Nose is sweet. Easy, malty flavor on drinking with a smooth mouth feel. No bitterness to speak of. Nice malty, cocoa flavor.
