Jet black with one inch of dark chestnut foam that is very dense. The head slowly settles, leaving an unbroken curtain of lace on a Pretentious Glass Company snifter known as "The Sequel".
Dark roasted malt is simple and pleasant. Some chocolate comes out along with faint cinnamon.
The flavor is clean and all malt with mild cinnamon. There is not much to say here, other than it is very tasty with a faint, brief finish. Both the bitterness and sweetness are mild.
The texture is smooth and lush, while the body is full and chewy. Alcohol is mild for 11.3 percent, though certainly noticeable. Carbonation is soft.
This makes for a good afternoon Imperial Stout. A nice punctuation after a long, rough week.
